Get Started with Decolonizing Healthcare

We believe systemic white supremacy must be eradicated from the healthcare system, in order to do this healthcare providers like you, must be empowered to become allies for dismantling oppressive power structures. We work with individuals, groups, or organizations, looking to implement decolonization practices.

Types of Support

Consultation

Are you concerned that your program or agency has made anti-racism work a checkbox? Do you want to learn ways that your program or agency could provide care with cultural humility and cultural responsiveness? Do you want support in building policies and procedures that are inclusive and equitable to your customers whether they be your workforce members or your patients?

Moore Genesis can provide consultative services for your organization. This will help you to implement more inclusive policies within your organization.

Supervision

Quality clinical supervision is the foundation upon which social workers (LICSW), licensed mental health counselors (LMHC), and licensed professional counselors (LPC’s) develop and build their clinical practice.

Through Moore Genesis clinical supervision is a partnership in which the supervisor and the supervisee bring their authentic selves to the relationship, where developing a decolonized clinical practice starts with critical examination of systems and where we as practitioners may be complicit in maintaining a system that is oppressive to those we serve.

Individual Support

With understanding that we all can be complicit to systems of white supremacy, Moore Genesis supports individual practitioners in identifying implicit biases, addressing explicit biases and learned behaviors in order to gain awareness of ways that we as individuals can contribute to racism within the healthcare setting. Do you need a judgment free space where you can talk through some of the complexities that arise in your personal anti-racism journey?

Moore Genesis provides individual therapy with a focus on undoing the tenets of white supremacy that exist within each of us through K-12 schooling, mass media, higher education and training and beyond.

Together we can build a better system

“If one was socialized within the United States, the system of white supremacy is the cup from which we all unintentionally drink from. It has poisoned all aspects of our society from the cradle, how we are born, to the grave, how we die and the care we receive in between. Together we can build a better system for future generations. The system of white supremacy  is a culture that works to maintain itself through implicit thoughts and beliefs, through policy and procedure, through how we care for each other in our greatest times of need.”
